Shortly after launching Bust Out Solutions in 2005, we welcomed our first client, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Working very closely with in-house IT, business analysts, and end users accross multiple brands (Pottery Barn, Hold Everything, PB Kids, West Elm), Bust Out Solutions built custom web applications using Ruby on Rails and helped re-engineer a thick-client legacy system as a light-weight Java web application.
We adhere to the philosophy that web applications should be as easy to use and navigate as any website. Partnering with graphic designers from Play, we defined the visual layout and usability rules of the new software systems to create aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-use interfaces. There is no reason why business software has to have boring grey screens with ugly buttons and odd key strokes. Software should be enjoyable and simple to use. You can have the most amazing technology under the hood, but if a human being can’t easily interact with the machine, the software is worthless.
